Reiki Community Event

Saturday, October 30, 2021
1:00pm-4:00pm

If you can use a little healing energy in your life, join four practitioners who are coming together at Centered Yoga & Wellness on Saturday, October 30th to offer Reiki to those who are interested in experiencing this gentle healing method.

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that improves the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.  Reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and healthcare facilities, to promote relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief.  Studies show Reiki can create feelings of peace, relaxation, security and wellness.

Centered Yoga & Wellness is, well, about wellness, community and connection. And so we’re offering abbreviated Reiki sessions to connect with the community and offer the experience of this gentle practice and hopefully a bit of relief in the midst of what we can probably agree are some stressful times.

Community Soul: Cultivating Conversations to Open Hearts and Center Lives

Saturday, November 13, 2021
12:00pm-1:30pm

Community Soul is a forum for people of all ages and walks of life to talk, listen, learn and connect. WCN features the “community living room”, a place for women to be their authentic selves in an atmosphere of camaraderie and collaboration.

Meaningful conversations on topics such as health, success, change, decision-making, emotions, stress, balance, love and more take center stage. Find out what other women think, feel and do about some of the things you may be thinking about. Topics may arise organically or be approached purposefully. This semi-facilitated conversation combines the wisdom of the participants with the power of the moment to generate an authentic evening. Participation is accessible for all.

Each session begins with connection – time to say hello and connect with new and familiar friends. Then, a mindful conversation led by an Integrative Health Coach follows.  Whether you like to speak or listen, your presence is valued.  Hope to see you there.

Sound Jouney Mediation – Tibetan Singing Bowls & Yin Yoga

Friday, November 29, 2021
5:45pm-7:00pm

Tibetan singing bowls produce rich and harmonic overtones that produce a direct affect upon each of the seven primary chakras. Traditionally, chakras are described as vortexes of energy that run from the base of the spine to the top of the head. It is thought that when the chakras are balanced, open, and aligned our energy flows more freely, thereby creating more balance within our bodies.

In addition to their powerful meditative properties, the benefits of Tibetan singing bowls also include:

– Deep relaxation
– Improve circulation
– Lower blood pressure
– Improvement in mood
– Stimulate brain waves and immune function
– Decrease pain sensitivity

Join Centered Yoga & Wellness and Karla Benoit the last Friday of each month to be guided through the 7 chakras with Tibetan singing bowls, affirmations, and fully supported Yin yoga postures intended to stimulate and balance each energy center.

Saturday, December 11, 2021 12:00pm-4:00pm
Sunday, December 12, 2021 10:00am-12:00pm

Are you feeling stuck or wounded, or are you struggling with patterns that undermine your wellbeing?  Do you have injuries from the past, relationship difficulties, or feel under-realized in your life?

If you’ve been feeling like you just can’t move forward, then exploring the underpinnings of perceptions that get us hooked – and how we get set free of them – may be just for you.  The Seeing True framework focuses on transformation as a desired result, with forgiveness and relationship as the spaces where we practice our work.  If problems and undesirable patterns seem to be hanging on to you, it’s time to take a deep dive so that you can Stop Hurting, Start Healing and Be Free.

Taught by author, speaker and facilitator Ron Chapman, you’ll be guided through a series of approaches including lecture, dialogue, experiential learning and reflection which are designed to move you into action, so that you can let go to find peace for yourself and your life.  You’ll leave the workshop with a customized set of practices for letting go.

Ron Chapman is the creator of Seeing True™ and Progressive Recovery, resources dedicated to exploring the concepts of engagement, release and transcendence of the blockages in life.  At the heart of all of Ron’s work is the Greek idea of “metanoia”, which could translate as a profound change of heart.  Ron is also a provider of facilitation, consulting and strategic services to an array of clients through his company Magnetic North, plus public health clientele, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).  Residing in Atlanta but traveling and being inspired by art wherever his journeys take him, Ron is one who carries the beauty of the world in his heart.

Mindfulness – The Practice of Presence

Saturday, January 22, 2022
2:00pm-3:30pm

Mindfulness can be described as paying attention to your life as you’re living it. With stress reduction and other important health benefits, learning to practice mindfulness can enhance wellbeing on all levels: physical, mental, financial, emotional and spiritual.   Mindfulness practices can help a person reduce anxiety, pain, and inflammation and to improve memory, focus and sleep.  As we face increasingly complex, conflicted and challenging circumstances, mindfulness can become one of the roots that keeps us grounded and proactive.

Led by Chandra White, this class will focus on practices and attitudes of mindfulness.  You learn the science behind various mindfulness methods, their benefits and experience mindfulness practice first-hand.  If you’re new to mindfulness, or would like to reacquaint yourself with practices, sign up today!

Chandra White is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and the Founder of Centered Yoga & Wellness.  In addition to being certified as an Integrative Health Coach through Duke University’s Center for Integrative Health, she is also certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and trained with Dr. Jeffrey Brantley in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).  Join Chandra to experience the benefits that come from a Centered approach of living in the present.

She received Levels II and III in 1998 and received the level of Reiki Master Teacher of the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition in 2000. The daily practice of Reiki has informed every aspect of Cindy’s life.  It has provided her enhanced mental, physical and emotional health, and a deepened spiritual connection.
