Heart-Based Meditation Practitioner Community Forum

Wednesday, November 10, 2021 7:00pm-8:00pm
Wednesday, December 17, 2021 7:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday, January 22, 2022 9:00am-10:00am

For those trained in Heart-Based Meditation, the self-transcendence method of meditation created by Paul Dugliss, M.D., this monthly community forum offers the opportunity for trained practitioners to come together in community to ask questions to further their experiences.  Too often, meditation is viewed only as a solitary activity.  We learn a method, and then go on our ways without the benefit of continued support.  We know, though, that as we continue to meditate, our understanding of the practice changes, and we change.  Questions arise, sometimes we encounter challenges, and sometimes we find new found grace.  When we can share our experiences, ask questions and discuss relative discoveries, we deepen our practices.  We can even highlight results of our practices that we may not have realized are present.

In this monthly gathering, Heart-Based Meditation Trainer Sarah Troy will facilitate discussion and practice of the Heart-Based Meditation method.  If you’ve been trained by Sarah Troy or Dr. Dugliss, or if you are interested in becoming a Heart-Based Meditation practitioner, register below for the Forum or or join us for our next guided meditation training.

Saturday, December 11, 2021 12:00pm-4:00pm
Sunday, December 12, 2021 10:00am-12:00pm

Are you feeling stuck or wounded, or are you struggling with patterns that undermine your wellbeing?  Do you have injuries from the past, relationship difficulties, or feel under-realized in your life?

If you’ve been feeling like you just can’t move forward, then exploring the underpinnings of perceptions that get us hooked – and how we get set free of them – may be just for you.  The Seeing True framework focuses on transformation as a desired result, with forgiveness and relationship as the spaces where we practice our work.  If problems and undesirable patterns seem to be hanging on to you, it’s time to take a deep dive so that you can Stop Hurting, Start Healing and Be Free.

Taught by author, speaker and facilitator Ron Chapman, you’ll be guided through a series of approaches including lecture, dialogue, experiential learning and reflection which are designed to move you into action, so that you can let go to find peace for yourself and your life.  You’ll leave the workshop with a customized set of practices for letting go.

Ron Chapman is the creator of Seeing True™ and Progressive Recovery, resources dedicated to exploring the concepts of engagement, release and transcendence of the blockages in life.  At the heart of all of Ron’s work is the Greek idea of “metanoia”, which could translate as a profound change of heart.  Ron is also a provider of facilitation, consulting and strategic services to an array of clients through his company Magnetic North, plus public health clientele, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).  Residing in Atlanta but traveling and being inspired by art wherever his journeys take him, Ron is one who carries the beauty of the world in his heart.

Mindfulness – The Practice of Presence

Saturday, January 22, 2022
2:00pm-3:30pm

Mindfulness can be described as paying attention to your life as you’re living it. With stress reduction and other important health benefits, learning to practice mindfulness can enhance wellbeing on all levels: physical, mental, financial, emotional and spiritual.   Mindfulness practices can help a person reduce anxiety, pain, and inflammation and to improve memory, focus and sleep.  As we face increasingly complex, conflicted and challenging circumstances, mindfulness can become one of the roots that keeps us grounded and proactive.

Led by Chandra White, this class will focus on practices and attitudes of mindfulness.  You learn the science behind various mindfulness methods, their benefits and experience mindfulness practice first-hand.  If you’re new to mindfulness, or would like to reacquaint yourself with practices, sign up today!

Chandra White is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and the Founder of Centered Yoga & Wellness.  In addition to being certified as an Integrative Health Coach through Duke University’s Center for Integrative Health, she is also certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and trained with Dr. Jeffrey Brantley in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).  Join Chandra to experience the benefits that come from a Centered approach of living in the present.

Sound Jouney Meditation – Tibetan Singing Bowls & Yin Yoga

Friday, January 28, 2022
5:45pm-7:00pm

Tibetan singing bowls produce rich and harmonic overtones that produce a direct affect upon each of the seven primary chakras. Traditionally, chakras are described as vortexes of energy that run from the base of the spine to the top of the head. It is thought that when the chakras are balanced, open, and aligned our energy flows more freely, thereby creating more balance within our bodies.

In addition to their powerful meditative properties, the benefits of Tibetan singing bowls also include:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Improve circulation
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Improvement in mood
  • Stimulate brain waves and immune function
  • Decrease pain sensitivity

Join Centered Yoga & Wellness and Karla Benoit the last Friday of each month to be guided through the 7 chakras with Tibetan singing bowls, affirmations, and fully supported Yin yoga postures intended to stimulate and balance each energy center.
